Dean Ellis, Idaho Fire Chiefs Association

I started with the Idaho Falls Fire Department in February of 1984. I became certified as an Intensive Care Paramedic in June of 1987. I was promoted to Captain in December of 1993. I flew as a Paramedic for Air Idaho Rescue from 1991 to 2001. This was a part time position with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. In May of 2001 I was appointed to the position of Division Chief over EMS. In August of 2002 I was appointed by Mayor Linda Milam to be the Fire Chief of the Idaho Falls Fire Department and still currently serve in that position. Prior to my fire service career I worked as a journeyman cabinet maker at Johnson Brothers Planning Mill.
